A CONVERSATION about the “The Shack” by William Young
What Is “The Shack?” The Shack revolves around Mack Philips. Before this story begins, Mack’s daughter was abducted during a family vacation. Though her body was never found, the police found evidence in an abandoned shack indicating that she had been brutally murdered by a serial killer who preyed on young girls. As the story begins, Mack, who has been living in deep grief, receives a strange note that is apparently from God. God invites him to return to this shack for a get together. Uncertain, Mack re-visits the crime scene has an encounter with God.
This book challenges personal conceptions of the theological order of things. For reviews try www.challies.com/media/The_Shack.pdf or hereiblog.com/2008/08/08/the-shack-review/.
Meeting dates: Mondays, July 18 and 25 in the Library from 7:00 to 8:30. Please call or email the Church Office your intended presence.

OUR SECOND “Twilight Oasis Mid-Week Time of Reflection,” is scheduled for Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the McClellan’s barn. This is an alternative, informal worship experience consisting of faith and life topics, stories, and songs. Plan on joining us, and if you play an instrument, please bring it!
