Announcements and Calendar for the Week of Dec. 16, 2012

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS YEAR, OUR CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 5:00 P.M. INSTEAD OF 7:30.

THANKS TO ALL who donated gifts for needy children through our Gift Sunday collection for TEEG. Those gifts were all delivered on Monday. We learned that gift deliveries will take place on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 9-5 p.m. If you would like to help, call TEEG at 860- 923-3458 & let them know when to expect you.

TODAY THE CHILDREN present the nativity play, with music by Leslie Sweetnam and Eva Hulme, in this inter-generational service. After the play, children will rejoin their parents, who should feel free to take their children downstairs for coloring and a snack if needed. Thank you to Leslie and Eva and to all the parents who brought their children in early this morning for practice. The Christian Ed. team wishes you a blessed Christmas and a joyful new year!

We begin a new unit on January 13 with Peacemakers: Biblical Figures Who Brought Peace and Justice. Ellie Donahue will be teaching.

THERE ARE some leftover goodies from Christmas-on-the-Hill available to purchase in Harrison Hall: dried fruit and nuts, trail mix, jarred mixes, etc. Whether you missed them the first time around, or liked them so much that you are craving even more, you’re in luck! Check out the display at coffee hour!

CHRISTMAS DINNER: Marilyn Pomeroy would like to extend an invitation to join her at her home for Christmas dinner, on Christmas day at noontime. Don’t spend Christmas alone—spend it with church family! Please call her if you would like to attend. All welcome. 860-928-2950.

A VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS is a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit! Each of the next 3 Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. the Westfield Congregational Church on Main St in Danielson is presenting a varied program of readings, song, and refreshment for the spirit as well as the body! Westfield has a new pastor, the Rev. Jonathan Chapman, who is dressed in Victorian garb as are many of the congregation and candle light & period decorations abound! Treat yourself to a delightful way to begin the busy week ahead!

HELP NEEDED: Coffee Hour hosts, Ushers, and Lay Readers all needed for January, February, and March! Please check the board in Harrison Hall and sign up!

NEXT SUNDAY will be the deadline for the January edition of SHARE.
