THIS MORNING’S CHURCH SCHOOL: Pumpkin Parable Group Event in the Downstairs Infant Toddler Room.
Junior Choir –– The JC will be singing the anthem for next Sunday’s Intergenerational Service (Bible Sunday). Choir members should be here and ready for warm-ups at 9:15 am next Sunday. Don’t forget the time change! Fall back! Wear black & white. There will also be Junior Choir rehearsal after church next Sunday while parents attend the Second Hour with Reverend Mike.
Daily Bread –– Soups and Stews! Keep those cans coming!
COVENANT TO CARE THANKSGIVING BASKETS: CTC has agreed to provide Thanksgiving food baskets to ten needy families living in North East Connecticut. A suggested menu is provided below and is also posted on the kiosk along with a sign-up sheet. The idea is to “sponsor” a complete basket or pair up with someone to share a complete basket. If you hate to grocery shop, gift cards from Walmart or Stop & Shop, or cash donations are more than acceptable. We will convert cash donations into gift cards. If you would like an official Hill Church receipt for your donation, please attach your name to the donation. Cash and gift cards (made out to FCCW with Thanksgiving baskets written in the memo section) can be left at the Church office in the middle drawer of Ellen’s desk. Food donations should be left in the kitchen on Sunday, Nov. 21, which is the day after Christmas on the Hill. Any surplus donations will be brought to Daily Bread in Putnam, or TEEG in Thompson. Thank you for your contribution,

THOUGHTS ABOUT COFFEE HOUR: Coffee hour is a wonderful opportunity for our church family to gather following worship; for many people it may be the only chance we get to have a few minutes to socialize and catch up with one another. The challenge is to find hosts. We have the following suggestion. Let's agree to have very simple coffee hours. We don't want people to hesitate to host coffee hours because it is a daunting task. Coffee and tea are provided by the church. Harold Bishop and Woodstock Orchards provide cider. Beyond that, not much is necessary or called for. We can feed our spirits without feeding our bodies. Let's encourage more people to be hosts by agreeing that we don't need lavish refreshments. We want to offer hospitality and a cup of coffee so our congregation can spend time together following worship. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to host coffee hour. -The Hospitality Committee
IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT! NEW KEYS!!!
Your old keys will no longer work for the front left door (near church office), and the back downstairs doors. The back doors (kitchen and back stairway) simply have one new key for both doors, which you may get from Ted or from Ellen; but the door near the church office now has a keypad system. Simply punch in the combination (1234) and turn the switch below the keypad in the direction of the arrow. To keep the door unlocked, there is a small wrench hanging near the door on the inside and you insert it into the hole on the bar across the inside of the door and give it a turn. It is important that the wrench always be kept in this spot. Please see Ted if you would like a demonstration.
