Announcements and Calendar for the Week of Mar. 27

THANK YOU to all who participate in our KNITTING MINISTRY! These beautiful creations are a tangible expression of caring for friends and loved ones in our community. Our group meets in the church library at 3:30 PM on the last Tuesday of each month. New members are always welcome and we have lots of skilled knitters who are happy to teach beginners. Our next meeting will be on March 29. Patterns and prayers can also be found online at www.shawlministry.com.

GUIDE MY FEET LENTEN PROGRAM continues on Wednesday, March 30 at the Hill Church. Join us for a simple supper of soup and bread at 6 PM, followed by a short presentation, and worship. Our featured speaker this week is Rachael Arcand who works at United Services in Willimantic.

COMPASSION CAMP REGISTRATION FORMS are now available! Pick one up from the youth bulletin board downstairs or download from the church website at www.hillchurch.org. This outreach program is for youth who are currently in grades 6-9 and the camp will be held on the week of July 25-29. Register by April 8 to get the Early Bird Discount!

HELP WANTED! Easter Elves are needed to help make yummy chocolate covered coconut eggs on Sunday, April 3. These will be prepared for sale for the Easter Holiday. The process is simple but we need many hands! Proceeds will benefit our Summer Scholarship Fund for youth who want to go to Silver Lake, Synod, and Compassion Camp. Speak to Debbie Gray if you would like to help after church next week.

CHURCH SCHOOL –– We are beginning a new unit called “Teach Us How To Pray”. The children will be exploring many different kinds of prayers. Jesus taught his disciples to pray and gave them an example that we still use today. We call this example the Lord’s Prayer. This morning in our group event, we will make prayer journals to use throughout the Lenten season.
ROTATION LEADERS for the “Teach Us How To Pray” unit are Emily John, Diane Peterson, Charlie Bottieri, Leslie Sweetnam and Eva Hulme. Thank you for your leadership!
DAILY BREAD –– The church school is collecting peanut butter and diapers for our local food/bank. Visit http://www.norwichbulletin.com/news/x1512124941/Putnam-food-pantry-expands-mission-with-help-from-volunteer-coordinator#axzz1G26SNc4L to learn about Daily Bread’’s mission.
JUNIOR CHOIR –– We will sing the anthem on March 27th. Be sure to attend weekly rehearsals! Thank you!
