Announcements and Calendar for the Week of Mar. 13

REV. MIKE AND THE TRANSITION TEAM will hold a Second Hour today following worship. How do things feel at church these days? Do you have any questions or concerns you would like to express? Rev. Mike and The Transition Team will discuss progress as they see it. It is time for a “stop check”. Plan to grab your coffee and cookie and meet in the library.

THE TRANSITION TEAM IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE AN EVENT IN MARCH YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS:
Mark your calendars for our Church Heritage Event, "A Tale of Two Times: Then and Now," Sunday, March 27, from 4:30pm - 7:30pm. This is a very special all church gathering and potluck event. Bring your favorite recipe or choose one of the wonderful recipes from the personal collection of Ian Scott's wife Patricia which are sweetly symbolic of the historical nature of our program. Sign up in the Great Room during Coffee Hour any Sunday in March. After dinner, we will roll up our sleeves and delve into the history of our church. It will be a time of fun recollection and remembered challenges. Children are welcome at this event. They, too, will be led in a similar exercise and have an opportunity to tell their stories. Shared participation will provide the vital background needed as we create a time line of our church and gather information for our future search for our next pastor. We warmly invite all to attend. Rides will be made available; please call the church office to arrange transportation.

POT LUCK RECIPES AVAILABLE: Don’t forget to stop by the table at Coffee Hour & select a recipe for the upcoming Pot Luck Supper on March 27. We have selected some of Ian Scott’s family recipes & we hope you’ll pick one card for a main course or a dessert and try the recipe for this upcoming church supper. The recipes will be available next week as well, but if you want to make your “old standby church supper favorite” & not take a card, that’s fine too.

CHURCH SCHOOL –– We are beginning a new unit called “Teach Us How To Pray”. The children will be exploring many different kinds of prayers. Jesus taught his disciples to pray and gave them an example that we still use today. We call this example the Lord’s Prayer. This morning in our group event, we will make prayer journals to use throughout the Lenten season.
ROTATION LEADERS for the “Teach Us How To Pray” unit are Emily John, Diane Peterson, Charlie Bottieri, Leslie Sweetnam and Eva Hulme. Thank you for your leadership!
DAILY BREAD –– The church school is collecting peanut butter and diapers for our local food/bank. Visit http://www.norwichbulletin.com/news/x1512124941/Putnam-food-pantry-expands-mission-with-help-from-volunteer-coordinator#axzz1G26SNc4L to learn about Daily Bread’’s mission.
JUNIOR CHOIR –– We will sing the anthem on March 27th. Be sure to attend weekly rehearsals! Thank you!
