Announcements and Calendar for the Week of Mar. 27

THANK YOU to all who participate in our KNITTING MINISTRY! These beautiful creations are a tangible expression of caring for friends and loved ones in our community. Our group meets in the church library at 3:30 PM on the last Tuesday of each month. New members are always welcome and we have lots of skilled knitters who are happy to teach beginners. Our next meeting will be on March 29. Patterns and prayers can also be found online at www.shawlministry.com.

GUIDE MY FEET LENTEN PROGRAM continues on Wednesday, March 30 at the Hill Church. Join us for a simple supper of soup and bread at 6 PM, followed by a short presentation, and worship. Our featured speaker this week is Rachael Arcand who works at United Services in Willimantic.

COMPASSION CAMP REGISTRATION FORMS are now available! Pick one up from the youth bulletin board downstairs or download from the church website at www.hillchurch.org. This outreach program is for youth who are currently in grades 6-9 and the camp will be held on the week of July 25-29. Register by April 8 to get the Early Bird Discount!

HELP WANTED! Easter Elves are needed to help make yummy chocolate covered coconut eggs on Sunday, April 3. These will be prepared for sale for the Easter Holiday. The process is simple but we need many hands! Proceeds will benefit our Summer Scholarship Fund for youth who want to go to Silver Lake, Synod, and Compassion Camp. Speak to Debbie Gray if you would like to help after church next week.

CALL TO SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CONGREGATION TODAY
-Proposed amendments to the Exhibit A policies for management of the endowment fund adopted under the Special Resolution of January 24, 1999 and amendment of the related Church by-laws regarding the responsibility of the Trustees to manage the income from the fund and the reduction in Investment Committee membership from five members to three;
-Proposed amendment to the Church by-laws related to the composition of the Board of Deacons; and
-Discussion concerning the display of the American Flag on the church premises.

THE TRANSITION TEAM would like to invite you to a Church Heritage Event, "A Tale of Two Times: Then and Now," today from 4:30pm - 7:30pm. This is a very special all church gathering and potluck event. After dinner, we will roll up our sleeves and delve into the history of our church. It will be a time of fun recollection and remembered challenges. Children are welcome at this event. They, too, will be led in a similar exercise and have an opportunity to tell their stories. Shared participation will provide the vital background needed as we create a time line of our church and gather information for our future search for our next pastor. We warmly invite all to attend.
